Summary of Position: 

Wash and clean tableware, pots, pans and cooking equipment. Keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized. Participate in food preparation activities as requested.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Load, run and unload dish machine.
  • Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware in an appropriate manner.
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage, loss and contamination.
  • Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware and kitchenware for dining room and kitchen.
  • Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately.
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature, keep dish machine chemicals at proper levels and maintain dish machine log.
  • Bag and haul trash to dumpster as needed.
  • Keep the dish room clean and organized.
  • General cleaning duties.
  • Perform opening, closing and running duties as outlined on the opening and closing checklists.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Manager-on-Duty.



  • No previous restaurant experience is required.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Always adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
