Busser Job Description

Reports to:  General Manager/Operations Managers

Summary of Position: 

The primary responsibility of a Busser is to remove soiled dishes, glassware and silverware from the tables, clean the tables and re-set with clean silverware.  Secondary responsibilities include proper maintenance and cleaning of side stations, floors, furniture, restrooms and perform other duties as assigned. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Remove all plates and glassware from tables after guests have left.
  • Make sure tables are properly cleaned and sanitized and before re-setting the table.
  • Make sure the chairs, booths, high chairs, booster chairs and floor area around table is clean.
  • Bring all dishware to dish room for cleaning.
  • Guest interaction may be part of your job. Be professional and prepared to answer questions about the restaurant as covered in your training manual.
  • Keep the restaurant free of debris, clutter, litter and pick up/sweep as needed.
  • Keep wait stations, ledges and shelves clean and clear of dirty dishes and glassware.
  • Adhere to grooming and appearance standards outlined in employee handbook.
  • Carry out instructions given out by direct supervisor.
  • Always adhere to all company policies and procedures.





  • Customer service oriented.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Be able to move around the entire restaurant for 8 hours or longer, per shift.
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift heavy items as necessary.
  • Contribute to the team effort and treat others as you would like to be treated.
  • Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits.
